Frequently Asked Questions
I want to create a pitch for my business. Should I do your masterclass or work with you 1-to-1?
You will receive the same training in both formats. The masterclass suits business owners who like to brainstorm ideas with others. You will give and receive feedback within the group. It is particularly suitable if your business is new or has changed direction.
1-to-1 training is purely focussed on your business.
I have a speech coming up for an event and I would like help preparing for it as I am quite anxious about it. Can you do that?
Yes! Schedule an intro call and we can have a chat about how I can help.
I don’t have to deliver presentations at work, but I am not confident speaking to management or speaking up at meetings. Can you help?
Yes! Schedule an intro call and we can have a chat about how I can help.
Do you work online?
Yes, I use Zoom, but we can use your preferred platform
I deliver a lot of presentations online. Can you help me improve my virtual presentation skills?
Yes! While a lot of the key elements of creating an effective presentation hold true for online meetings, there are some extra elements to consider. Schedule an intro call and we can have a chat about how I can help.
How do you work with in-company teams?
I work closely with the Learning & Development function to create communication or presentation skills training that is tailored to their specific needs. It can be delivered 1-to-1, by virtual classroom or lunch & learn. The topics vary according to the needs of the organisation.
I’m interested in working with you but I don’t see what I want in your services. Do you offer any other services?
Yes. Communication and presentation skills covers a broad range of topics. The services pages on the website show a sample. Schedule an intro call and we can have a chat about how I can help.
Can you make me feel more confident speaking in public?
While nobody can “make” you more confident, I have found that my clients gain confidence by following the clear structure which I provide. Preparation is key to confidence. My clients learn how to prepare well in order to communicate their message effectively.
Do you do interview preparation?
I have worked with clients who are preparing a presentation to deliver at interview. I don’t do interview skills preparation.
What happens if I decide to work with you?
The first step is a discovery call where I will ask you lots of questions to find out what your needs are. If you are working with me on one of the longer programmes, you will complete a short questionnaire. You might also like to get feedback from colleagues about your communication strengths and areas for improvement.
We then agree a programme that suits your needs and goals and schedule our sessions. Once a week or fortnight works best.
At the end of each session, we review progress made and confirm the content for the next session.
